The Groove Station is a high-energy live band that brings the best of rock, pop, blues, and country, from yesterday's classics to today's hits, to stages across southwestern Ontario. Since 2016, the band has been performing at corporate events, private functions, weddings, and live music venues. With two powerhouse lead vocalists and a rhythm section with a deep, in-the-pocket groove, The Groove Station delivers a show audiences love. Its seasoned players have decades of experience and know how to read a room and keep the dance floor full, whether it's a wedding reception, a company celebration, or a Saturday night at a favorite local venue.
Rebecca Janelle | Vocals, Guitar
Rebecca picked up her first guitar at 14 and was hooked from the start. She went on to tour with her own band and record her first album, and her career has taken her across Canada and onto countless stages. Her country roots run deep, and her sound has grown to embrace rock and blues, shaped by artists like Susan Tedeschi and Bonnie Raitt. With more than 23 years of entertaining crowds, Rebecca is the heart of The Groove Station. Her voice is powerful, soulful, and completely genuine, and she pours her energy and passion into every song. When she takes the stage, the room feels it.
Rodney Alexander | Vocals, Guitar
A gifted singer and multi-instrumentalist, Rodney brings a rich, expressive voice and effortless musicianship to The Groove Station. He moves naturally between blues, country, and rock, whether he's trading lead vocals, laying down guitar, or adding harmonies. Over the years he has played with artists including Michelle Wright, Marie Bottrel, John Landy, Stacey Zagers, and Runaway Angel, as well as blues and R&B artists from Toronto and Hamilton, and he brings that road-tested experience to anchor the band's sound on every stage.
Ryan Van Acker | Drums
Ryan has been playing drums since a young age and was in his first working band at 16. Today he is known for his solid time, tasteful feel, and the deep pocket that gets people moving. He has backed a range of blues, rock, and country artists, including Jonathan Russell, The Joys, Elton Lammie, and Genevieve Fisher, and brings that professionalism to every show.
Rob Allen | Bass, Vocals
With more than 30 years on bass, Rob has performed coast to coast across Canada in rock, country, and blues settings. He has toured with Canadian recording artists and brings that experience to every gig. Rob locks in with the drums and holds down the groove all night, adding vocals to round out the band's sound, with a feel that is rock-solid and always in service of the song.
Guy Miskelly | Guitar
Guy has been performing since his teens and went on to study jazz at Mohawk College in Hamilton with some of Canada's finest musicians. A versatile guitarist and experienced studio musician, he moves easily between country, rock, blues, and jazz, and always plays the right part with great tone and feel. He has shared the stage with Genevieve Fisher, Sarah Smith, Laura Rose, Doug Varty, Tara Oram, Karen Grainger, and Jonathan Russell, and has toured North America with several tribute shows.
